Senator Agenbroad's 5th Week of Session
District 13 Constituents,
Now into our 5th week of the session the pace continues to increase. Next week will be the last week to introduce new legislation allowing time to get through the process before our expected departure in March. The Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee (JFAC) continues to hear agency requests. We expect to complete our hearings next week and we’ll immediately start setting budgets. The House passed a $200 million income tax decrease bill on Wednesday and it will now make its way to the Senate for our consideration. There continues to be a lot of discussion about income tax as well as grocery tax cuts.
I enjoyed meeting with some of my Canyon County friends at the Capitol as well as an Association of Counties dinner. It’s great to have their input as we consider legislation that will have an effect on our counties.
