Senator Agenbroad's 4th Week of Session
Dear District 13 Constituents,
Now in our 4th week of the session, legislation is beginning to move forward at a rapid pace. A significant tax bill was introduced in the House and will be making its way through committees and likely to the House floor before arriving in the Senate.
The Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee (JFAC) continues to hear agency requests. This week’s largest budgets were from Health and Welfare. Health and Welfare spending in Idaho is the second largest general fund budget behind our public schools. When Federal funds are included, the H&W budget is the largest state budget.
I enjoyed several opportunities to visit with friends who traveled to the Capitol from Nampa including students from all three of Nampa’s high schools, our County Commissioner Tom Dale, and our Nampa PD leadership team. Here’s a picture of us in the Senate Chambers.
I look forward to keeping you informed with this weekly newsletter about highlighted activities taking place in the Idaho Capitol.
Below are some recent highlights from the legislative session. I hope you will enjoy the information and, for more details, you can log onto legislature.idaho.gov where you will find bills, committee recordings and live stream videos of our House and Senate floor sessions. I look forward to your involvement.
