Football Hall of Famers - Week 10 in Session
District 13 Constituents,
We’ve now completed the 10th week of the 2018 Legislative session. This brings us within about two weeks of Sine Die. As the session begins to come to a close two daily floor sessions are becoming more common. The two daily sessions are required to complete our work, meet transmittal dates between the two legislative bodies in order to hit a targeted end of March Sine Die.
Now that JFAC has set the budgets they will make their way to both the full Senate and House for approval. This week I was the Senate floor sponsor of four budgets totaling just under $200 million. More budgets to come next week.
This summer I was contacted by a neighbor in District 13 about a problem he recently encountered. He was a victim of a credit breach by Equifax and was at significant risk of identity theft due to the information breach. To protect his identity, he began freezing his and his wife’s credit information learning that he would have to pay a fee to each of the three credit reporting agencies. Paying the credit reporting agency a fee wasn’t fair since it was the credit reporting agency that breached his information, requiring the freeze. I was able to draft and gained support to pass legislation allowing each of us to freeze and unfreeze our credit information once each year at no cost. I appreciate the opportunity to provide a common sense, simple solution to a problem that affects each of us.
On March 13th I had the honor of presenting HCR54 on the Senate Floor. This resolution recognizes Jerry Kramer’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame and declaring August 23rd, 2018 as Jerry Kramer Day in Idaho. Jerry is an Idaho Sports legend who attended the University of Idaho and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. Under the direction of Coach Vince Lombardi, Jerry was instrumental in the Packers’ two Super Bowl victories and 5 NFL championships. Congratulations to Jerry Kramer who has represented Idaho well!
